Role: The Sales leader for International Markets in Pharmaceuticals API plays a crucial role in driving sales and expanding market presence for pharmaceutical Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs). This position requires a deep understanding of pharmaceutical APIs, strong sales acumen, and the ability to cultivate relationships with clients in diverse geographic regions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Expansion: Identify and target new markets globally for pharmaceutical APIs, analysing market trends, competition, and regulatory requirements in each region.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and execute strategic sales plans to penetrate new markets and expand the customer base, aligning with company objectives and market demands.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while actively prospecting and engaging with potential clients to drive sales growth.
  • Product Knowledge: Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of pharmaceutical APIs, their applications, benefits, and technical specifications to effectively communicate value propositions to clients.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams such as marketing, R&D, and regulatory affairs to ensure alignment of sales strategies with product development and compliance requirements.
  • Negotiation and Closing: Lead negotiations, prepare and present proposals, and facilitate contract negotiations to secure deals and achieve sales targets.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes impacting the pharmaceutical API market in international regions.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Maintain accurate sales records, prepare regular sales reports, and analyse sales data to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Pharmacy, Chemistry, or a related field (Masters preferred)
  • Proven track record in pharmaceutical sales, specifically in API sales across international markets.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical APIs, their manufacturing processes, applications, and regulatory requirements in various countries.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel internationally and work across different time zones as needed.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret sales performance data and derive actionable insights.
